Eventbrite is a platform used to create and promote events! Many businesses, organizations, bars, and restaurants use the platform and sell tickets to their events through it. Cybercriminals are also using this popular platform for their own gain. They are creating fake event invitations to steal personal information and money.
Cybercriminals are sending out phishing emails to trick people into filling out their sensitive data. In this scam, cybercriminals send a fake Eventbrite email invitation. This email is crafted to look legitimate with Eventbrite branding colors and logos. The email includes a link that goes to a fake webpage. If the person clicks on the link it will prompt them to fill out their information like personal info, banking information and credit card numbers. Once the person fills out this form, their information goes straight in the cybercriminal’s hands.

- Always go to the website in a safe browser instead of from a link in the email.
- Be cautious of unexpected emails that prompt you to fill out information.
- Contact customer service to verify if this is a legit invitation.
