Video Game Scam

Love video games and need a job? Cybercriminals have crafted the perfect job for you!

In this scam, cybercriminals post a job posting that allows the person to download a free video game and then get paid for monitoring the chat within the game. When the person goes to download this free game (PirateFi) it automatically installs malware. Once the malware is downloaded, the cybercriminals are able to steal all web browser information, online accounts, and personal information. Sadly, if the person falls for this scam, they will not be getting paid!

TIPS:

• Things that sound too good to be true, probably are!
• If a job requires you to download something before you are officially hired it is probably a scam.
• Make sure your antivirus software is up to date before downloading any software. Always be cautious when downloading anything!
