Shipping Phishing Emails

Supply chains have been struggling due to the Covid Pandemic. This has caused many problems like shipping delays. Since this has been a well-known problem cybercriminals used this topic to their advantage and have created missed or delayed shipment phishing emails.

In the latest scam, cybercriminals are using  an email that appears to come from a shipping company that looks legit and urges the receiver to click on the link to download a shipping document. The link leads the person to a well-designed phishing webpage asking for their email and password. All information that the person shares on the webpage will go straight to the cybercriminals.

Tips:

• Don’t click on a link or download an attachment from an email you weren’t expecting.
• Always be cautious of emails that cause a sense of urgency. Many times, cybercriminals try to create urgency so they can get you to react impulsively. Always think before you click!
• If you are expecting a shipment make sure the email is a legitimate one before you click on any links or open attachments.
