Some Retailer Surveys are too Good to be True!

Retail surveys are sent out to customers so the retailer can learn more about what customers want and how they can improve.

Many retailers offer a coupon or deal to customers who complete their survey. These are becoming even more popular during the Coronavirus Pandemic and scammers are starting to take advantage.

Scammers are sending out survey emails that look like they are coming from well-known retailers. Most of their emails are creating urgency by informing customers that they only have a couple of rewards left for customers who complete the survey now. At the end of the survey, the scammers let you know you won a prize and all you need to do is to pay for is the delivery fee. Some are claiming you won an iPhone, expensive purse, or TV. You really didn’t win anything!

The scammers' main objective of this is for you to give them your name, shipping address, and credit card information. Don’t get scammed by scammers!

Tips:

  1. If an offer is too good to be true then it probably is. Check the retailer’s website by going to your browser and searching for them to see if they have any offers going on.
  2. A real survey will let you know the rules at the beginning. You would know beforehand if you needed to pay for the delivery fee.
  3. Be wary when an email has a sense of urgency. Retailers are looking for results from their surveys, so they won’t rush you.
