Sr Analyst Quality Assurance

Description

We have a need for a QuickTest Pro (QTP) developer with added LoadRunner experience. We are looking for someone with experience in developing QTP scripts including the use of VB Script. We are not looking for someone simply capable of recording and executing scripts. An understanding of QTP configuration, performance tuning and environment management is needed as well. We are in the process of developing a suite of scripts to convert our manual Pharmacy test efforts to be automated and we’ll be using QTP for the test automation and LoadRunner for performance testing. These scripts will be very complex and will require a great deal of analysis, design, and optimizing. This person will assume ownership of the existing scripts and continue their development, execute the tests, and use Quality Center to log the results of the test.

The candidate is responsible for performance modeling, evaluating the application performance and performance tuning of the applications. The role of the candidate includes ensuring that applications have been fine tuned for the best possible performance in the given environment and they continue doing so as long as the service is available to the users. 

Experience

  • 2+ years QTP/VB Script development experience
  • 2+ years experience in QTP/QC configuration and environment management 
  • Experience in other software development languages a plus 
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases a plus 
  • Experience using LoadRunner and related test development 
  • Experience using QTP/QC for factory automation a plus

Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal resource should have:

  • The ability to analyze applications from a performance optimization perspective
  • Knowledge of operating systems 
  • Prior experience in performance test planning, test case design and script development is must for this position. 
  • Gathering and base lining performance requirements 
  • Defining the performance objectives 
  • Developing performance model 
  • Reviewing System Architecture from performance perspective 
  • Developing the performance test plan 
  • Identifying the performance test environment and test data 
  • Ensuring the set up of the performance test environment 
  • Designing performance test cases and scenarios 
  • Developing performance test scripts in LoadRunner 
  • Working with IT support teams for release deployments 
  • Executing performance tests in the controlled test environment 
  • Analyzing the test results and identifying the performance bottlenecks 
  • Making recommendations for performance improvement 
  • Tracking the performance related defects / issues and enhancements 
  • Maintaining the baseline performance for various systems in various environments such as with different latencies etc.
